Now I must admit I was not in the best of golf shape after a late night of celebration and also not in the best of moods for some other reasons by the time I arrived at the golf course. So I did not pay as much attention as I should have to everything about the course. While the parking lot was full of pickups and horse trailers, there were very few folks on the golf course; apparently big convention of the Texas Wildlife Association at the resort and their parking overflowed.
The folks at the pro shop were GREAT! Gave me a bag tag with my name inscribed for free and encouraged me to have a great time on the course. I was again going to be playing by myself as no one else wanted to brave the middle of the day heat again :) Oh well so much for meeting folks on the golf course I guess LOL. The starter gave me the lowdown on the course and sent me on my way.
The course was a little brown from drought (as compared to Cedar Creek the day before) but in good shape. I played pretty quickly in the heat (finished with a round of 80). I did catch up with a single male golfer on the back nine and then a single male golfer caught up with me as we were all stuck behind a very slow foursome. I graciously asked the gentlemen who caught me if he wanted to play together for the last few holes so we both would not have to wait and he said yes. I tried to approach the gentlemen who I had caught but he clearly wanted no part of playing with a female as he completely refused to look my way and just hurriedly teed off and drove off. Oh well his loss (although he was pretty cute) LOL
